Good Chow has arrived in Hong Kong, a new steak specialist selling top quality meat for relatively un-HK prices. We’ve tried a selection and even managed to cook it properly. There are few things worse than an over-done cow. The basic idea behind Good Chow is to provide a range of steaks for affordable rates and deliver them frozen to your door. Methane or no methane, this is what cattle were made for.
Prices starts at HK$22 going up to HK$100, and the more you buy the cheaper it gets. Packs contain 5, 10 or 20 steaks - ranging from the entry level Kansas City Steaks to the Premium NY Strip. We tasted the latter and thought it was one of the best home cooked steaks we’d ever had. Weighing 16oz, it’s so manly it could be used as a weapon. The meat is juicy, tender, and has bags of umami (not to be confused with unagi) so you’ll make a lot of moaning sounds while eating it.
Good Chow delivers to 95% of Hong Kong so unless you’re reading this in a remote fishing village you’ll be fine. Orders over HK$500 get delivered for free (otherwise it’s HK$50) and the meet comes sealed in a vacuum pack. Best of all, their beef is imported from America and is USDA graded so will meet with approval from your lady even if she’s an organic nut. Alhough if she's "one of those", chances are she won't be eating a steak in the first place.
Red meat maketh man.
